That sounds like you are checking for updates.
Why do you think you need to reinstall Acrobat?
If you do, then first diactivate it through the Help menu. Then unistall through the control panel. But make sure you have your serial number for Acrobat as you will have to reactivate it after you reinstalled it.
If there are still issues. Deactivate it and use the Adobe provided application remover before you reinstall Acrobat and your other Adobe products.
