No, unfortunately not. Acrobat will save you work every x minutes. When Acrobat crashes, it will look for these files and then offer you to recover them when you start Acrobat again. If that does not work, then unfortunately you are out of options. It is possible that Acrobat crashed while it was writing out this temporary file, and that is the reason why you could not recover from it. Do you remember what the error message was?
