receive error 1328 when updating adobe acrobat pro; have tried all available fixes and nothing works

Error 1328 states: "Error applying patch to file C:\config.Msi\PTEACE.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor." The version I have is 10.1.9 on Windows 7. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling with the original CD. It was not successful.

After uninstalling Acrobat try to run the "Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool" (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html ) to remove any traces of your previous installation.
