missing pages when converting word 2011 doc to PDF

I converted a 31 page word 2011 document (Mac OS 10.11.3) into a PDF using Adobe Acrobat pro XI and discovered the last 2 pages were missing in the PDF. I tried it several times with the same result.

In another instance text inside a box in a word document ended up on top of the page not in the text box.

How do you convert from Word to PDF? There are several different ways to do that, so please be very specific.
