When I tried to open a PDF, I got the message: "The Japanese Language Support Package is required to display this page properly. Under the current configuration, this resource is not available." I've updated to the latest reader version 11.0.06

You may have to download the JLK Fonts pack from the Adobe website.

In addition, it could be that Rader requires the Japanese entry methods, which would be part of your Operating System installation.

Hope this can help.
