I need the cursor tool to default to Select Tool and NOT Hand Tool when opening Acrobat XI 11.0 - I have tried everything. I know most people want the default to be Hand Tool but I need it to be Select Tool when opening my documents in Acrobat XI Pro

Hai Willden,You can do one of the following:1. Disable the option "Make Hand tool read articles" from Edit > Preferences > General. This will disable the feature that makes clicking on the hand tool result in zoom into the articles2. Choose a different tool, say Select Tool by going to Tools > Select and Zoom > Select Tool.Note that the above settings are stored in your preferences (~/.adobe) and are remembered in subsequent uses of Adobe Reader.Hope this helps.Pugaz
Hi,
Go to Preferences : General and tick the "Make Hand tool select text & images" checkbox.
Then the (default) Hand tool will always act as the Select tool upon text & images, and act as the Hand tool otherwise.
