how do i add a letterhead PDF to a document

I have the letterhead in PDF format. Now I want to add it to my document to print and save

If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can use the background or watermark feature, which allows you to place a 2nd PDF behind or on top of your first PDF's content. In Acrobat DC you can find the features in Tools>Edit PDF

See Rick Borstein's article Acrobat for Legal Professionals ppost about Creating PDF for Digital Letterheads. It could also be possible to use a template to overlay the PDF containing the letterhead using some scripting to insert the letterhead template into a PDF, overlaying the 1st page and then removing the letterhead template.
