how can I plot A1 pdf from autocad

I have acrobat 9 standard on my computer & have installed the Adobe pdf printer. When I try to plot any drawing to pdf, there is no option for creating anything larger than A3.
Is there any way you can plot to a larger format (A1 or A2) as standard? It seems to be easy enough for the freeware pdf creators, so why can't Adobe manage it???

It sounds like you need to create a custom page size since you're using Acrobat Std. The Pro. version of Acrobat 9 includes the PDFMaker macro for AutoCAD in which the page size and plotting information are transfered to specify the right page size. However, this may not be the case for Acrobat Std. Here is a link to the Help instructions on how to create a custom page size:

You can directly create a PDF file from late versions of AutoCAD - choose the DWG to PDF.pc3 file in the Plot dialog box and choose the paper size from the paper size scroll list.
