change author on a comment

Hi there,

I have a login name that is not my real name for security purposes, but acrobat reader insists on using that as the author name for any comment I put on a PDF. How do I change the default author name to my own without changing my windows login? I've tried to go to the edit-->preferences-->identity way, but I'm unable to change my login name and though I change the "name" field to what I want (i.e. "Firstname Lastname"), the comments I generate all remain as my login name.

You have to disable the "Always use login name" setting in Acrobat's Preferences>Commenting:

Always use login name

Then bring up the properties for a comment and change your name. Now right-click on that comment and select to use the current settings as default properties. That should do the trick.
