When trying to edit a document acrobat 10 will freeze or crash and have to reboot the machine.

I would have opened one thread only...

This one from you seems to be much similar: http://answers.acrobatusers.com/acrobat-10-freezes-print-q106185.aspx

I'll be posting on this, ok?

Adobe Acrobat Pro 10? Or Standard 10?

Operating system and version?

Any crash report or error msg? Have you just started off using this Acrobat or you used to work with it with no problem at all?

Please use this thread only (the other one is the same expect for it adds that the same issue happens when printing as well).

You added:

No the user has been using it and it just started happening. There is no error it just states that acrobat is not responding and it just sits there until the user reboots the machine. it is Operating system Win 7pro 64 bit 4 gig of ram and 250 gig drive

What about Acrobat? Could you please add something about it?

Hi,

I am a user like you and any info more you provide, help me make focus on the problem and try to put forward a solution.

Anyway, I found these 2:

It is very likely that your issue with Acrobat is due to a memory overhead.

If you read both threads linked above, you will realize this by yourself.

Probably, you are either

  • opening an heavy PDF;
  • meeting a kind of "font" issue similar to the one outlined in one of the linked threads;
  • having a full tasks list on your system;

So, follow any of the advice given in the threads. In general, I would start from

  1. check if the PDF is too heavy;
  2. start your system in safe mode and check how Acrobat behaves;
  3. purge (Acrobat) cache contents;
  4. purge system temp files (see CCleaner);
  5. uninstall and reinstall Acrobat hoping that this will fix a "font"-like issue;

    ...

If all of these don't work, there are more complex solutions that consist in running a system events log. I can provide some links on this if needed.
