PDFs I create in Acrobat X from Word 2010 give an error message when opened in older versions of acrobat. Files open properly in Acobat & Reader X only. Error exists on final page which is A3 landscape and the rest of the document is A4 portrait. Page has an Excel object and caption. The Excel object displays but the caption doesn't."An error exists on this page. acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem."Anyone got any ideas?

It will be hard to figure without looking at the file. Is it something you can share?
Have you tried to set the PDF level compatibility when the PDF was created? You should be able to set the target version for the PDF be changing the settings in PDF Maker. If you have the Professional version, then you could also use the Preflight feature to check and set the PDF compatiblity version.
By cutting the object and using paste special to paste it as an 'unknown object', the problem is resolved.
No idea why, but it's a workaround.
