In the past, problems like this were usually related to licensing. There is a discussion going on for a similar problem in the Acrobat Community with participation of some Adobe staff: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1840585
You may want to post over there and see if they can help you. Other than that, I I would suggest that you get in touch with Adobe's support here: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html (don't use any of the "Forum" options, otherwise you will end up here again)
Do you have a subscription to Acrobat DC? If so, you can downgrade to Acrobat XI without any problems: Just download the installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html and then select to install the trial/subscription version, log in with your Adobe ID an you can use Acrobat XI.
