Why won't the pdf print?

PDFs from some sources won't print to my Brother printer. Goes direct to SAVE, then error box says, "The document could not be printed." The next box says, "There were no pages selected to print."

What software are you using to print PDF files?

If you have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, you can try this:

First of all, go to menu Help -> Check for Updates... to verify if you are using the latest update.

Second, if using Windows, disable protected mode temporarily: choose Edit -> Preferences and click Security (Enhanced) on the left. Choose Protected Mode as Off and Uncheck "Enable Enhanced Security". Close Acrobat, restart it, and try to print the document again.

If the Protected Mode is not interfering, try the "Print as Image" option. Click the Advanced button in the Print dialog box to find this option.

You can also visit this "Troubleshoot PDF printing | Acrobat, Reader" page:
http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html

You said that the printing goes direct to save, so, in the Print dialog, click on "Advanced" button and make sure that "Print to File" option is disabled in the Advanced Print Setup and click OK to confirm.

Try to copy the file to C:\ and print it.
If you are using another language instead of English in your directory name, it will be a problem.
Chane your directory path name to english or as I said in the bigining copy the file to c:\
