Not to mention Adobe was downright hostile when I posed this question to their customer service personnel.

Adobe has a presence on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. So, at least 3 avenues. What would Storm'n Norman do?
Can you please let us know what your Adobe case number was when you contacted customer service?
