I get an error message that my Shockwave plug in has failed over and over. An update to my Adobe keeps popping up, but when I try to add the update a pop up says the files could not load. How do I get this update to load onto my computer as this may be the reason I keep having shockwave plug in failure.

It is a possibility, my suggestion would be to uninstall the shockwave player completely and reinstall the latest version.
