Why does my display size/page number/forward&back bar disappear when I'm viewing a .pdf document downloaded by IE?

The small control bar floats at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds and then disappears. Up until a few weeks ago, I could use it to control display size, page number to be displayed, forward/back, etc. I've uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat Reader and the problem persists.

OS is WINDOWS 7 (64-bit)on one laptop (DELL XPS)and WINDOWS 7 (32-bit) on a DELL Inspiron. Could this be related to a recent Reader update and how do I fix the problem?

That is the HUD, Head Up Display. in the reader mode. This has been added in Acrobat X because of the number of handheld devices with smaller screens.

You can change the HUD by clicking on he Acrobat symbol, the F8 key, and the application preferences.

See the full Help for more information about the changes in Acrobat/Reader X.
