When I try to save as PNG file, Acrobat says "insufficient disk space" - I have 24 GB RAM and a 1/2 terabyte drive

I'm trying to convert some pdf files to PNG files and I keep getting a dialog box that states:

Acrobat could not save a page in this document due to the following error: Error attempting to write file. This may be due to insufficient disk space.

I have 24 GB RAM and 1/2 terabyte of disk space available on my hard drive. This makes no sense. Can someone please help?

Thank you,
Bob

SOLUTION - I had this problem come up again to day. I was able to solve the problem by changing the preference in the Color Management portion of the settings dialog to NOT EMBED the RGB profile (change preference to "Off").

A added this as a comment then realized I could embed this screenshot if I posted as an answer.

I tried to submit this to Adobe in the bug report form but it threw an error.

This may be due to a corrupt image (or other corrupt data) in your PDF file. Does this happen with all PDF files (e.g. try this one: http://khkonsulting.com/files/Sample75Pages.pdf)? If it's not happening with all PDF files, it's very likely related to a problem with your source file.

I have same problem in acrobat version 11.0.09.

I can save jpg or tiff from pdf, but only can not save png from same pdf file.

I suppose it occured after acrobat update 11.0.09 because I had not before in old version.

Something is definitely wrong with Acrobat 11.0.09 regarding the "save as .png function".
Funny enough, the Sample75Pages.pdf from Hr. Kremer does not create problems, but every kind of .pdf I can find (created by Scanner, Office Word, Acrobat Distiller, etc.) does result in the same error.

The german translation of this error message is faulty too. It misleadingly states an hardware error.
"Fehler beim Schreiben in die Datei. Möglicherweise liegt ein Festplattenmangel vor."
instead ot stating "ein Mangel an Festplattenspeicher"

Anyway this behavior just started recently, as early as, 2014-11-20 in my case.
The repair function bears no results.

Yes, this is definately a problen in 11.0.09 AND 11.0.10. I tried it on a know good pdf (had already been saved as a .png with an earlier version of Acrobat) and it fails.

This worked for me:

- Go to "Save as other" select Image -> PNG
- Click "Settings"
- Under Color Management change RGB from "Embed Profile" to "Off" and accept

Select destination, name and export.
