The "SendNow" service is Not being "killed".
The Announcement at the SendNow user-2-user forum clearly states that it is the "AIR Desktop App" that is going away in December of 2013.

To make use of one's SendNow subscription one simply points one's browser to the SendNow site, log in and use the service.
As well, SendNow can still be reached via the in-built links in Adobe Reader and Acrobat or via the Adobe add-ons for MS Outlook.

Announcement: SendNow desktop/AIR application shutting down Dec 12

As part of several functionality upgrades being made over the next few months, the SendNow service soon will only be accessible and usable as a web app, from Acrobat and Reader, and/or from Microsoft Outlook. Beginning December 12, 2013, SendNow no longer will be offered as an AIR-based desktop app, but as an alternative you can continue to use the web app at https://sendnow.acrobat.com.

By signing into the SendNow service from an Internet browser, you'll still be able to send and track large documents and multimedia files. Stay updated about SendNow changes at the Adobe Document Services blog.

Yes, as Dave mentions, this is only the AIR desktop app that is being discontinued.

On May 12, 2014 Adobe SendNow is transitioning to a brand new service called Adobe Send. Adobe Send is part of an improved, integrated set of Adobe document services that makes sending large files even easier by allowing you to send files you have stored on Acrobat.com as well as files from your desktop.

Adobe Send will be available beginning May 12, 2014, and will replace Adobe SendNow later this year. When it becomes available, SendNow subscribers will automatically become Adobe Send subscribers and can start using the new service to send and track large files online at no additional charge. Until mid-July, you’ll be able to use both Adobe Send and SendNow.

For more information on the transition check out this FAQ: SendNow transitioning to Adobe Send document.
