Renaming textfields

Hey guys,

I've created a page and made two textboxes (named text1 & text2).

I've then copied these two over and over, ending up with 32 textboxes.

Problem now is, that I now have 16 textboxes named "text1" and 16 named "text2". Is there a quick way to rename them, so they're all unique?

The name isn't important, in this case, for me, as long as they're not linked by the same name. Any suggestions would be gratly appreciated.

It's not possible to actually rename fields in Acrobat in an automated way. The best you can do is re-create them using the new name. To do that you can use this tool I've developed: Acrobat -- Rename Duplicate Fields to Unique Fields

Just keep in mind that when you use a script to duplicate a field and then delete the original, you will not be able to retain any scripts that were associated with the original field. Unfortunately, there is nothing in Acrobat that would allow you to do this automatically and create an identical copy (with the exception of the name) to the original field. You would need a custom Acrobat plug-in to do that.

Wouldn't it have been easier to use the "Create Multiple Copies" function so that it would create copies of the text field giving each a unique name?
