PDF Reader add on not visible in IE

Installed X1 Pro on windows 7 32 bit OS running IE 9 and do not have the Adobe PDF Reader add on listed, (showing all add on) in IE. PDF links will only open in IE which I do not want. Have tried un-installing, deleting Adobe folder out of programs files and reinstalling, same results. Have installed on other PC's with same setup with no issues. Any ideas on how to disable the reader add on when it does not show up as a manged add-on option in IE? Thanks in advance.

Uninstall Reader again and after that run the Cleaner tool http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/... and then try downloading reader from here http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and see if that triggers the plugin to get installed. As there is no individual plugin that you can download and install.

Hi

Have you tried this
Internet Explorer 8 and 9

  1. Open Internet Explorer, and choose Tools > Manage Add-ons.

  2. Under Add-on Types, select Toolbars And Extensions.

  3. In the Show menu, select All Add-ons.

Select All Add-ons from the Show menu in the Manage Add-ons dialog box.
  4. In the list of add-ons, select Adobe PDF Reader.

  5. Click the Enable or Disable button (it toggles depending on the status of the selected add-on):

Enable sets the Adobe PDF Reader add-on to open PDFs in the browser.

Disable turns off the add-on so it does not open PDFs in the browser.

Select Adobe PDF Reader, and click the Enable/Disable button.

If you have and you say its not listed, is it actually using the PDF Reader plugin and not a third party plug-in. Can you take a screen grab and upload it so i can take a closer look.

Finally opened a chat with Adobe and you have to select the option "run without permission" and it will show the Adobe PDF reader option to disable.
