To match either "234 2nd Avenue" or "234B 2nd Avenue", you can use the following regex:
/^\d+[A-Za-z]*\s+/
This will also match "234abcdef 2nd Avenue". If you want to match either zero or one letter after the number, use the following:
/^\d+[A-Za-z]{0,1}\s+/
I've changed the "\d*" to "\d+" so that it requires at least one digit. Otherwise, if somebody enters "A Street" without a number, you would end up with "Street".
