Hi Laurie,

Try the below steps as this a .netwframework related issue

1. Click on start

2. Go to Control Panel.

3. Programs and features.

4. In the left pane, click on turn windows featureon/off.

5. Uncheck Microsoft .NET framework 3.51

6. Click Ok.

7. Restart the computer.

8. Repeat steps 1 to 4 and check Microsoft .NETframework 3.51

9. Restart the computer.

10. Reinstall the application.

Please check and confirm whether that works or not.

Thank you so much for the help. I followed the steps, but I still get the same error message. I have windows 7 if that makes any difference...

Could you please confirm, Is it a fresh copy of Adobe Acrobat which you are installing or dis you had any previous version installed.

What is the location of the setup which you are trying to run ?

Is this machine on any domain or being used locally ?

If locally, try to activate the hidden admin account on windows 7 by using thebelow command

start>run

right click on it and run as administrator

Type the below command

net user administrator /active:yes
