I can't convert PDF to word

I can't convert PDF file to word, because seems drop down menu is inactive, and it is not activated when clicking it. I try to convert anyway, but it fails

How are you converting from PDF to Word? Are you using Adobe Acrobat or the online service ExportPDF?

Which drop down menu is inactive? We need a bit more information to help you.

surely, I use Adobe Reader XI, and when I select the pdf.file from my computer to be converted, then I have to choose what type of file will be converted pdf file. so if you understand me, this doprdown menu and the boxwhere it is said Convert to: is inactive. So I belive, conversion is not available, because I can't click the Microsoft word (* .docx) link in the box.

Do you have a subscription to Adobe's ExportPDF service? That is a requirement for this feature to work.

If you do have a subscription, make sure that you are logged in (if you see the blue "Sign in" at the top of the panel, you need to click on that link and sign in).

My experience is that it's much more reliable to go directly to the ExportPDF web site (http://exportpdf.adobe.com) and upload the PDF file to the web service without the help of Adobe Reader.

Adobe Reader Cannot create PDF, edit/word PDF or export PDF content to another file format.

To export PDF content you use Acrobat or you pay for a subscription to the appropriate online service available from Adobe.

Thank you for the useful answers, but I am so new in all this stuff. I mean Acrobat XI - I use this only to convert files from pdf to word. I am translator and need to do this very often, because it's easier and more convenient to translate over in word file. I still don't know what to do? Pay for the convertion?

Based on your description, you do have Adobe Reader XI, not Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat has the conversion routines built into the application and does not use the ExportPDF service. The user interface you describe is from Adobe Reader, and for that to work you need to pay for the ExportPDF subscription.

If you do have Adobe Acrobat, you can select File>Save as other>MS Word>... to convert to Word.
