How do I save page layout 2-pages per sheet when converting to PDF?

I have created a printer layout in MS Word (with page imposition, in correct order for printing two-sided booklet pages) and I want to give it as a PDF to a professional printer. When I save ("publish") this document as a PDF, the individual half pages (5 1/2" X 8 1/2") are centered on individual full sheet (8 1/2" X 11") pages as single pages. How do I save this as a read-to-print PDF, 2 pages per sheet?

(My Word document prints the booklet correctly when I do 2-sided printing. The converted PDF does not.)

How are you converting to PDF?

You either have to use the imposition function in Word and print to the "Adobe PDF" Printer (assuming that you have Adobe Acrobat installed), or use a 3rd party imposition solution on your PDF document.

Keep in mind that when you use any booklet function, it will re-orde your pages, so your pages should be in their original order (1,2,3,...).

Asking the question a different way -- Do you have Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro installed? Not Adobe Acrobat READER (the free to download, install and use app).

If you have only Adobe Acrobat Reader installed then you are using the Microsofts routine that creates PDFs & the issue you describe is a problem with the Microsoft process. This process is ok but it does lack the functiionality that is found when using the Adobe process that is available if Acrobat Standard or Pro is installed and used.
