How do I get rid of Red OCR boxes that appear after using 'recognize text' in Acrobat 10.1.3 Mac OS 10.7.4?

How do I get rid of Red OCR boxes that appear after using 'recognize text' in Acrobat 10.1.3 Mac OS 10.7.4?
Is there a simple way to turn off this odious feature, which has suddenly appeared after I had several months of no-box text recognition bliss, or do I have to simply throw up my hands and quit using Acrobat forever?

Change the PDF Output Style to ClearScan by clicking on the Edit button on the pop up that appears when executing the text recognition function. A pop will appear which allow you to change the ouput style. I'm using Acrobat XI Pro and making that adjustment cleared all the red boxes left from a previous OCR scan.

Eureka! Quit Acrobat, go to Library/Preferences, and trash - com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist - problem solved!
Resolve to never touch the 'OCR Suspects' button again.

How silly of me to waste time actually trying to find a solution within the program, or in any of the Adobe help forums.

It did so in a manner that meets design expectations.


Acrobat's Help states:
"Choose Tools > Recognize Text > Find All Suspects.
All suspect words on the page are enclosed in boxes.
...."

I realize what caused them to appear, getting rid of them was the problem. Once they appear, they show up on every document, and there does not seem to be a way to simply turn them off within the program. I'm happy to trash the prefs, but that seems to me to be a roundabout way of dealing with something that started with an inadvertent touch of a button.
What surprised me most though, was that I seem to be alone in this red box world. Thanks for the response.

I have the same problem but can't figure out where in my Windows XP system is the file to delete. I searched in both Documents and Settings/ and in Programs/Adobe/ FWIW I am running Acrobat XI Pro.

BTW, what an incredibly poor UI that cannot turn off the find suspects but requires one to then go thru all of them.
