Error - Cannot find or create the font ArialMT. Some characters may not display or print correctly

When I open a pdf file I get "Error - Cannot find or create the font ArialMT. Some characters may not display or print correctly". Part of the file is unreadable because of this.

I am using win 7 64 bit and use adobe reader XI and acrobat Pro 9.5

I just had this error today on my new pc with the same specs. Try this:

Open Adobe Reader
Go to Edit/Preferences/Internet
Uncheck "Display in Read Mode by Default"
