Acrobat does not have a file | import.
You can import supported file formats as a layer to an existing PDF.
Acrobat can create PDF from PostScript/EPS. User configuration is availalble via the Distiller job option configuration.
You can File :: Save As to PDF from AI.
Acrobat can readily insert a PDF or PDF pages from one PDF to another.

Any recent Illustrator file is a PDF file - even though it may not look like one. You could rename an .ai file to .pdf and then open it in Acrobat. However, I would not recommend that. The better way to get from. AI to PDF is - as David suggested - to export from AI to PDF.

If you can tell us more about what you are trying to accomplish, we might be able to provide more information about how to best do this.

I would like to add that if you have an EPS file you can create a PDF from it.
You can go to menu File -> Create -> PDF from File...
EPS is one of the supported formats.

You can edit Convert to PDF settings for EPS going to menu Edit (Windows) or Acrobat (Mac) -> Preferences, choosing "Convert To PDF" category and the file type:

If you want to insert other file formats, can go up to tools-Add Image and insert the image formats supported by Acrobat.
