Closing right side panel of adobe reader x 10.1.7

whenever adobe opens now the right side panel pops same time in the adobe window for exporting, creating and sending pdf files. This is slowing down the reader operation during opening and reading of files. how can i permanently close this panel unless asked for ?

Same thing happened to me after upgrading. On the right hand side of my menu bar on top there are three commands in blue: TOOLS | SIGN | COMMENT. If you click on TOOLS the side bar goes away. I think the new version defaults to SIGN that gets you that side bar.

Check your default view preferences.

Check your conversion settings for the Acrobat PDF Printer and Adobe Distiller.

Note that setting the preferences for Acrobat/Reader only affects PDF files that do not have the "Initial View" property set to options other than "Default View".

So, if you are creating the PDFs, then your conversion settings are forcing one of the navigation panels open.

In the menu bar, go to "View", then select read mode. It should disappear permenantly from your life, as it is so anoying.

In the right top corner (ish) there are 3 links "Tools" "Sign" "Comment" Click tools to display/hide the right side pane.

In the new DC version, there doesn't seem to be a way to no have that panel open when I open a pdf. Don't want to have to close it. There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.

How To PERMANENTLY TurnOff the Right Side Pane in Adobe Reader

To stop the"Tools|Comments" sidebar from automatically opening every time youopen a PDF so that you can READ your PDF in full screen, this solution workedfor me on both my desktop PC and laptop.

This is thesolution:

Go to C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Services (for win7 64-bit)

or

C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Services (for win7 32-bit)

Find and Deletethese 2 files: DEXShare.spi and DEXEchoSign.spi

Yes, you will stillsee the word "Tools| Comments" at the top but at least your PDFs willopen in full screen and you won't have to click "Tools" to hide thatstupid side pane every time you open a PDF.

Click on the right pointing error on the separator bar.

Just go to your view settings and change from "full screen mode" to "read mode".

Worse than the problem are answers that do not answer the question at all. The question is how to hide this right side panel PERMANENTLY, not hide it from view every time. Clicking on View > Read and similar answers just hides this right panel for that one time only.

This is a workaround which I have used, and it works so far.

You need to delete/edit/move this file: Viewer.aapp

C > Program Files > Adobe > Acrobat Reader DC >Reader > AcroApp > ENU

(Mine is Windows 7, the location may differ according to your OS)

In my case, I renamed it Viewer2.aap in case I need it back.

This is most frustrating. The deletion of the Viewer.aapp file worked for a while, then the right panel came back.

I was told to do this. It works but not sure if the problem will come back.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Document > Uncheck thebox for Open tools pane for each doc. Default is checked.

AND

Go to View > show/hide and click on theTools Pane, the right column will disappear.

Edit --> preferences --> documents

UNcheck open tools pane for each document

You only follow these simple steps for permanent hide on open each document.

Open the Preferences dialog box.

Under Categories, select Signatures.
For Verification, click More.

To automatically validate all signatures in a PDF when you open the document, select Verify Signatures When The Document Is Opened. This option is selected by default.

Select verification options as needed and click OK.
