Can't print PDF just save

When I try to print a PDF from email or the internet there is no print option just a save option. It worked fine until a few days ago. I have restarted computer, cleared cache, updated Adobe, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe and now I am out of ideas! Please can someone help as I sell on Amazon and all orders are PDF so I have to save each one to my computer then I can print from there.

Ah, I can see your problem. You are using Google Chrome's built in PDF Viewer plugin which is set to Save as PDF instead of Print

You have options here:

  • Click on Change and choose your Printer from the list. Chrome from then on will then use your Printer instead of prompting you to Save the PDF.

or

  • In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://plugins
  • Disable Chrome PDF Viewer.
  • Enable the Adobe Acrobat/ Adobe Reader plugin.

or

Use a different browser - but I would stick to Chrome personally

I have tried ctrl + P and it is the same thing. It just has a save button and no print button. If the PDF file is saved to my computer it works fine. I it just a pain having to save the file each time. My computer did a windows update and I am wondering if it's anything to do with that.

When you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen does it not display the Print button?

Is your default printer set to 'Adobe PDF' instead of your regular printer?

When your Print Dialogue is open, click on 'Advanced' next to 'Properties' and check you haven't got 'Print to File' checked. If you have just uncheck otherwise it will prompt the file to be saved every time you try to print.

There is no advance option - if I hit print this is what I get. If I print after I have saved the document then there is no issue. There are no further options lower down the page. The only option I have is to save the PDF. Never had this issue in the last 4 years.....always used to be able to print from openeing a PDF in email and from Amazon.
