Can I create a hyperlink in Word to open a bookmark in a pdf?

I am trying to create a hyperlink in a Word document that opens a pdf file to a specific paragraph.

So far, I created a Word document with bookmarks ad saved it as a pdf. The bookmarks show up in Adobe Acrobat when I open the pdf. I then created another Word document where I want to insert the hyperlink. I highlighted the text that I want to be the hyperlink, clicked insert a hyperlink, and chose the pdf file that I mentioned above. When I click on bookmark in the insert hyperlink dialog box, it asks me to select the encoding that makes my document readable and no bookmarks show up.

Can anyone tell me how to make hyperlink in Word to a bookmark in a pdf? Or is there another way to hyperlink to a specific paragraph in a pdf?

No, it is not possible to create a link in Word to a bookmark in a PDF. When you create a hyperlink in Word you can look for bookmarks only in MS-Word documents, not bookmarks in PDF's.
The only way to create a hyperlink in a Word document to a specific page or destination in a PDF is if the PDF file is in a web server and you create the link referring to the PDF URL, such as _http://www.domain.com/pdf/file.pdf#page2 or _http://www.domain.com/pdf/file.pdf#destinationname.
So, if the PDF file is in a web site or intranet you can make a hyperlink to a specific page or destination.

It is possible to create a named destination in a PDF in the Destinations pane in Adobe Acrobat.
