"Copy-paste-edit" , such as used with a word processor or page layout program, is not something the PDF format supports (See ISO 32000-1 which the ISO Standard for PDF).
Acrobat does have tools that afford one the opportunity to perform some "touchup".
Trying to do much more than minor touchups will typically result in a goobered PDF.
Again, this is due to what PDF "is" rather than anything to do with Acrobat.
