My copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro X can't be opened after downloading and installing the latest version of Acrobat Read

I downloaded and installed the latest version of Acrobat Reader. After that my copy of Acrobat Pro doesn't work. There is a quick screen flash when I try to start it but then nothing. I am guessing that I need to uninstall Acrobat Pro and then reinstall using my CS6 Master Collection disks.

My question is if I need to try to deactivate Acrobat Pro before doing the uninstall and reinstall. All of the other programs from the Master Collection seem to be working fine and will stay activated during my activities.

Is this just a matter of uninstalling and reinstalling and updating Acrobat Pro?

You should not mix major versions.

I would uninstall Reader XI and repair Acrobat.

Is there a reason you need to have both Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system?
