Is there a procedure to fix the error "Object label badly formatted"?

We have a depo from a court reporter that will not "save as." We go through the process and it dumps at the error. We're using Acrobat 9 Pro in an XP environment.

In addition to your MVP status, you've become eligible to become an Acrobat User Community expert. To become an expert, you must be approved by our Acrobat User Community selection team comprised of community managers and Adobe employees. Once you've been approved as an expert, you will receive a badge on your profile with the level EXPERT next to your name and become eligible to be nominated to the Adobe Community Professional Program.

Someone will contact you soon regarding the community Expert program.

Based on one set of comments people have offered there seems to be missing information in the document or missing byte. Though the byte range stuff is confusing and thus provided me with a great question to ask. The only thing that stuck out to me is to turn off Fast Web View in Edit > Preferences > Internet and that might fix the error but I am unsure of that.
