I'm having a problem with a fujitsu scanner using the ADF to create documents
I have a Fujitsu fi-6230z scanner (ADF and flatbed) attached to a Dell PC running Win 7 Pro. I have Acrobat XI Pro ver. 11.0.07 installed and I just started having this problem yesterday.
Trying to scan a 5 page document (a simple text document) using the ADF results in the following error message: "An error was encountered while running scanned image optimization. Aborting scanning operation."
I normally scan all documents with the following options turned on: Optimize Scanned PDF, Make Searchable (Run OCR) and Make PDF/A-1b compliant; turning these options off does not change the results. I also tried scanning with other Color Mode options selected with no change in the results.
It usually fails after the 2nd page but will run all 5 pages through the ADF anyway; I only get the first page outputted but it's not recognizable as text. Also, I'm scanning 8.5" x 11" but the page size of the one output page is 8.8" x 15.2" which I believe to be the physical limits of the scanner. If there's a way to upload a file, I can supply an example. Emailing the sample is also possible.
I can scan the pages individually with Acrobat into a single document using the flatbed with no issues; the scanned pages appear as they should. I can also scan the pages into a single document using the ADF by using the ScandAll Pro software that comes with the scanner with no issues. I was also able to scan with Windows Fax and Scan using the ADF with no issues; the only downside was it creates separate files for each page. If there's an option to scan multiple pages into a single document with that software, I haven't looked for it yet. I only have the problem when trying to scan with Acrobat using the ADF.
This problem did not exist a couple weeks ago and as far as I can recall, nothing changed between then and now (no software updates). Windows 7 has since been updated as well as the scanner drivers and a repair was run on the Acrobat installation; the problem remains.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Anyone have a solution?
