How can pdf be exported to plain text WITHOUT including the headers and footers?

Dear All,

I need to export just the plain text of a large (10mb) pdf file to a plain text file and EXCLUDE the document headers, footers, images, footnotes, etc. What options do I have in Acrobat (Standard, Pro, etc.) to accomplish this? Is there any way to exclude anything (all words) that is in All Caps or other font/style?

Hi,

  • first, you need to be sure that this PDF is "tagged", otherwise Acrobat can do it automatically before exporting.

  • if you cannot get a good result by tagging, you can cleanup the resulting text in any word processor or text editor.
