How fancy can Adobe Reader get, for Playback?

I keep using pdf's in place of PowerPoint or Keynote. I'm liking this in lots of ways. But PP and KN do have fancy playback options, like for transitions. For example, they can make each new bullet in a list fade in one at a time. Can Adobe Reader do that? an animated transition? Or can Acrobat? I'm building images in Illustrator then exporting to pdf binder, so I'm talking about when Playing Back the pages in the binder, on screen...
