without knowing your OS I only can give you a generall answer.
Printjobs are always deleted in the spooler (on your PC or perhabs on a print server) or from the panel of your printing device.
The larger the jobs are the longer it will take until the spooler subsystem of the OS will delete the job.
So it's not unusual that the deleting sometimes takes 10 or more minutes.
