How do I batch optimize PDF folders in Acrobat X

Need to optimize about 25000 files, all PDF's. How do I optimize by folder in Acrobat X? Each folder is comprised of about 1000 files.

Hi what you need to do is create an Action. File – Action wizard – create new action. Then where it says start with, i would choose Ask when action is started. Then where it says save to, selct the Same folder selected at start, then click the options button on the right, then check the PDF optimizer button and click settings, modify your settings accordingly then OK and save the action. Now its a simple case of running the actions.

Could possible be tempted to test it first on a few files or test folder to make sure it works as planned?

Hope this helps?

It is a big number of files, and Acrobat may choke on the number of files to process per folder.

It may be worthwile to look at command-line tools. A first address to ask would be Appligent, and describe the tasks there.

Hope this can help.

As Max mentions, this is a large number of files. But if you do choose to go this route, this quick tip on How to Use the Action Wizard may help.
