Downloading Adobe Documents

I cannot download adobe documents, e.g., credit card statements. I could up until I troubleshot a problem with Microsoft. We changed from IE 10 back to IE 9 because I had a problem downloading some pictures on a website. Although that change fixed the problem I no longer can download statements from credit card websites as I could before. When I manually open Adobe Reader, the file is listed but I receive an error message saying the file cannot be found.
