Answers / Protect PDF files
I need to convert word docs into pdf(which I can do) but I need to be able to change the security settings and it won't let me. Do I need a particular program?

Hi I'm afraid it's not a free download, you would have to purchase adobe acrobat standard which is around £250. I believe you can add open passwords without purchasing acrobat, but for what you want, you would have to get acrobat.Hope this helps?
How did you create your PDF? And what are you trying to change, is it an open password or a permissions password?
And do you have acrobat?

I had a microsoft word document that I saved as a PDF. When I looked at the security setting it said no security. I need to be able to password protect for changes, not allow copying but allow printing. And to make things even more difficult, I have no idea what it used to change it to PDF, I haven't bought any programs, so I am assuming it is a free download of some sort. Sorry, I am not very computer savvy.
