Can Acrobat X Pro be used to create a book?

I have just installed Acrobat X Pro on my computer and have a question about creating a book that can be read on a computer? I have scanned a very old 150 page book and converted the jepgs to pdf's, can I use Acrobat X Pro to create a pdf book file that can be read like a book on a computer? Since am not interested in creating a book that can be read on an Kindle, Nook, iPad, iPhone or smart phone I am not sure that the file I am interested in creating would be called and eBook?

An eBook is just a generic term for files that are read on eReaders. Most (if not all) of the eReaders can read PDF files, so what you have is already usable on computers, as well as eReaders.

You could assemble the scanned images and add bookmarks and links to locate specific pages like the start of a a chapter. The format would remain as PDF and it could be read across a variety of devices. If you want to add a find or search capability, then you will need to OCR the images to convert the image of text to searchable text.
