Button to open a page of the pdf in a window

Is there a way to use a button action to open a window that displays a page of the PDF, without taking the user away from his current location.

Hi, yes the method i suggested first would have involved attachements.

With regards to you word file with links in. Did any of them work? or where they broken links. If the links didn't work at all, then did you use PDFMaker instead of the PDFPrinter as that doesn't support links?

If your want people to go back to the existing view before they clicked, you could create a button on the page that goes to the previous view that would automatically send them back to where they were originally?

I dont think there is a way to make a button display another view from the same document.

However, if it helps, you could extract that page as seperate page and create a link to open that PDF up as a separate page over the top of the existing page so the old view/page is still behind.

Hope this helps?

Sean - Thanks for your response. With your approach, it would be necessary to have the extracted page as an attachment. Correct me if I'm wrong. W're trying to avoid attachments.

My situation is this:
I have a document which has reference to four separate documents, 2 PDFs and 2 Word docs. Originally, there were links to these documents in a Word file that I'd hope would carry over to a PDF - but no.

We'd like to avoid attachments, but that turned out to be the only solution that worked - buttons opened the files that were attached. If I could get the attachments to not show up to the user, that would be acceptable - but no.

Currently I'm pasting the documents at the end of the PDF and will attempt to link to those pages from the links in the PDF.

But if you have any suggestions that you think would work, I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks again for your help with this.
