Adobe Reader forces you to "place signature" before it will consider the document signed. If you have to send a paper document, as my bank requires, and you want to hand-sign the document, you have to resort to a workaround to avoid using Adobe's default signature styles. You can save a 1 pixel square transparent png image and then place this image using the "place signature" too. Then you can print the document and sign-it by hand.
