Acrobat Pro XI Combine Files Dialog Box does not appear

I am using Creative Cloud/Adobe Acrobat XI. I am running Mac OSX Version 10.6.8.

When I go to File--> Create--> Combine files into a singe PDF, the "Combine Files Dialog Box" does not open. I had been successful using this function on a project, but the dialog box simply stopped appearing. All the other File--> Create functions work and their dialog boxes appear. I have tried to access it through every possible alternative path within the program and cannot make it appear.

In an attempt to fix the bug I used the Adobe Uninstaller to remove my existing copy of Acrobat XI and downloaded a new installation. This has not changed the problem.

Thank you for your attention.

YUVRAJ, thank you for the suggestion. I did update Air and restarted, but it didn't help. However, I have noticed one more mysterious symptom. When I select the Combine Files function, although the Dialog Box does not come up, a small object does appear on the screen : a vertical bright line one pixel wide and about a centimeter tall. This appears to be an artifact that is appearing instead of the dialog box. Any ideas why the real box is not displaying?

Am not able to click on it, select it or expand it in any way. It is not displaying -- although all the other pop-up windows in Adobe are opening fine. Weird.

Thank you, I will do that.

Following up - The Adobe service folks had me delete all the Adobe Preferences and flush them, then I uninstalled again and reinstalled. This time, it worked. Apparently something gets crosswise with the Preferences. Thank you for the help

I have this problem. I run OSX 10.9.5. I deleted preferences files and reinstalled. To no avail!
