A3 landscape duplex print error

Using Acrobat 9 Standard. Created PDF file containing doubleside A3 page in landscape orientation. The print driver correctly prints all A4 pages (in portrait) but prints the reverse side of A3 pages upside down. It is as if the Adobe print program is not sending the "edge to flip" for A3 landscape to the printer.

If the A3 pages are printed individually and the printer driver specifically set to the correct "edge to flip", everything prints fine. Obviously, this is not an option with large complex documents. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If the reverse side is upside down then the setting to flip the pages was wrong (Flip on long edge).

For landscape docs you should select "Flip on short edge" and for portrait docs "Flip on long edge".
Be sure you do not select duplex printing in Acrobat print dialog and the printer driver together, this can cause unexpected results.
